A chassis structure for a saddle vehicle in which a rear frame (13) supports a saddle (11) and is formed of a fiber reinforced resin and connected to a front frame (12) supporting a motor (E), such that it extends rearwardly from the front frame (12), characterized in that the rear frame (13) has a pair of left and right side walls (42), an upper cross piece (43, 44) formed separately from the side walls (42) and connecting upper portions of the two side walls (42), and having a lower crosspiece (45) formed separately from the side walls and connecting lower portions of the two side walls (42), the side wall (42) being shaped to be integral has a side plate portion (42a) forming a side surface of the vehicle body, a flat plate-shaped upper protruding edge portion (42b) extending along an upper end of the side plate portion (4) 2a) and projects inwardly from the upper end, and a flat plate-shaped lower protruding edge portion (42c) extends along a lower end of the side plate portion (42a) and projects inwardly from the lower end, and a flat, plate-shaped lower portion protruding edge portion (42c) extends along a lower end of the side plate portion (42a) and protrudes inwardly from the lower end, wherein an end portion of the upper cross piece (43,44) is connected to the upper protruding edge portion (42b) in the height direction superimposed and an end portion of the lower crosspiece (45) is connected to the lower projecting edge portion (42c) vertically one above the other.

A chassis structure for a saddle vehicle according to claim 1, characterized in that said upper protruding edge portion (42b) and said upper cross piece (43, 44) are connected to each other via a first rivet (48) with an adhesive therebetween and the lower protruding edge portion (42c) and the lower cross piece (45) are connected to each other via a second rivet (53) with an adhesive disposed therebetween.

A chassis structure for a saddle vehicle according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a first attachment portion (59) for attachment to the front frame (12) is provided at a front upper portion of the side plate portion (42a), and a second attachment portion (63) is provided at a front, side and bottom portion of the side plate portion (42a) for fixing to the front frame (12), wherein the lower projecting edge portion (42b) from a position corresponding to the first attachment portion (59) up to a position, which is connected to the upper crosspiece (43,44), continuous, and the lower projecting edge portion (42c) from a position corresponding to the second mounting portion (63) to a position with the lower crosspiece (42) 45) is connected, runs continuously.

A chassis structure for a saddle vehicle according to claim 7, characterized in that the lower crosspiece (45) is disposed below the upper crosspiece (44) which is the rear one of the pair of front and rear upper cross pieces (43,44) wherein the lower crosspiece (45) and a pot web (49) supporting a muffler (36) are fixedly connected together and fixed to the lower edge of the projecting edge portion (42c).
